Last time I passed by, the shop was closed, so I kept an eye on it. This time, it was open, and I went straight in. The fried chicken smell was so strong that it filled the entire subway station! 😆

They have various options like Fried Chicken, Gold King, Bbooringcle, and Ssomachi. But today, I wanted to try the new Kwassak King, which caught my attention.

I’ve been drinking a lot of soda lately, so I went with the classic drinks. 😅

Kwassak King – A New Concept in Crispy Chicken

Kwassak King is a new chicken from BHC with an incredibly crispy texture! You can literally hear the “kwassak” crunch when you bite into it. It's available in different options: whole chicken, combo, or wings.

The Vibe

The atmosphere was great for eating with friends—there’s a big TV facing the tables, so it’s perfect for watching together. The restaurant was busy, probably because it was Sunday, and everyone had a bottle of cola to enjoy with their meal.

Side Dishes & Sauces

The Sotteok Sotteok was served first. The rice cakes and sausage were perfectly cooked and delicious! It wasn’t too spicy, but it was chewy and flavorful.

The sauces I got with the Kwassak King were the Sweet Habanero sauce and the Bbooringcle Sauce (which I thought had a fun name).

Kwassak King Chicken

When the Kwassak King arrived, I was amazed by the visual. The golden batter was ridiculously crispy! 🫢 Each piece was huge, and there was a lot of meat. The crispy coating was on another level—super crunchy, with a bit of spiciness to it. The inside had tender, juicy chicken meat that was perfect with the dipping sauces.

Final Thoughts

Kwassak King is definitely worth trying if you love crispy chicken. For the portion size and the flavor, I think it's a good deal at 21,000 KRW. I was full after just one meal, and even had leftovers for the next day! 😋

BHC is famous for their Bbooringcle, but this new Kwassak King really impressed me. I'll definitely order again!
